Today I came across an interview Joran van der Sloot had with Greta van Susteren (GretaWire.com, Fox News). The story is now that Natalee Holloway was supposedly sold to a stranger.
What surprises me is that the media keep feeding this guy’s ego and fantasy. It’s not hard to see that Joran just loves the attention he gets from the media, regardless of how that attention is manifested. It’s also not very hard to see he has been lying to a lot of people.
He has changed his story so often that you wonder if there is any value what he says. Perhaps he changes his story so much because the media will give him more attention. Whatever the reason it baffles me that the media gets suckered into his megalomanic whirlpool of deception.
And what part does FOX play in this? They give this deceitful kid a podium to communicate with. Perhaps the prospect of better rating is too much of a temptation, but I really wonder if Fox realizes how much harm they are doing by interviewing this miscreant.
What angers me more about all of this, is what it does for the family of Natalee Holloway. Feeding the media this kind of deceitful crap it a kick in the gut for those who were close to Nathalee. Instead of coming to any form of closure or rest the media sends a message of (most likely) false hope Nathalee would be still alive.
Please stop interviewing this master of lies. Stop feeding his ego and his desire for attention. Stop giving this bastard the platform to spread more uncertainty and doubt about the fate of Nathalee. Just stop.
